Dear Diary:
I really do be want to be Queen of England, my Uncle is pushing me into it. My Grandparents were the Duke and Duchess of Suffolk or Charles Brandon and Mary Tudor, the Best friends of King Henry VIII and his little Sister Mary. I know they were in big trouble when they got married in France, Charles was supposed the bring Mary back to England to remarry the Choice of the King, but she married my Grandfather instead because they were in love. Just because of this marriage my Uncle believes I can become Queen of England in place of Princess Mary. Princess Mary will try to change the Church of England back again to Roman Catholic, after Henry and Edward’s movement towards the Protestant faith. My family is Protestant and so Uncle thinks we could take over and keep the Protestant faith for England.
I’m not sure, I am scared of Princess Mary. I must do my duty now and be crowned Queen of England, I hope Mary accepts this because she could start a civil war with the number of followers she has. I would rather just go home.

My parents both despise me
for I am not a son.
They parade me and they beat me
until their will is done.
But I am just a weal girl
with thoughts above my station.
But they have other plans for me
to lead this forlorn nation.
To marry wise the King’s great son
which will bring them great profit.
This plan of theirs will rule my life
yet I know nothing of it.
The Seymour sons have broken up
their sibling bond, that’s true.
They fight and die in their quest
to change their blood to blue.
Then Dudley’s come into my world
so barren of any love.
They see the throne and want it so
no help from God above.
They change my name from grey to black
I fear my very life.
My parents sold me to these cads.
and now I’m Guilford’s wife.
My young King dies a painful end
his body swelled and rotten.
John Dudley, that evil man
hides him to be forgotten.
I’m forced to wear another’s Crown
Guilford wears one too.
King and Queen, I don’t think so
poor Mary lost hers too.
But now it’s gone, peace at last
I pray the Queen will say.
Go in peace young cousin Jane
we know the one’s who’ll pay.
But now, I find the Pope wants death
for all who prospered so.
So I must stay in this bloodied Tower
Queen Mary cannot let me go.
So now my end is still in sight
My Father saw to that.
To try and regain all he’d lost
He plotted what we had.
This is the end of Brandon’s Grey
Of Seymour and of Dudley.
Fear now for England and it’s folk
for them it’s turned out badly.
Don’t cry for this innocent thing
I could have just said, no.
I could’ve just told the Mary
of things she ought to know.
Now Guilford’s dead, he paid the price
of Dudley’s evil scheme.
I face my fate with head held high
The end of my bad dream.
